The music band “La Pamplonesa” was founded in 1919 with Silvanio Cervantes as its first conductor. The band started out with 37 musicians. The band’s first public appearance was Oct.11th that year. Throughout its history the band has had several conductors with its current one being J. Vicent Egea.

Since 1987 “La Pamplonesa” has the status of Cultural Association in agreement with the city of Pamplona’s council. Among the duties established in such agreement, renewed in 2006, the band joins the municipal group in official acts and also performs in an annual series of concerts where the music ranges from local folklore to contemporary compositions and pieces written for bands.

The band also takes active part on the famous San Fermin festival which takes place between July 6th and July 14th
